SENIOR EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Location: Kamloops, British Columbia

Salary Range: $62,000 to $70,000
OUR OPPORTUNITY
The First Nations Tax Commission is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to support the Education Department. The Senior Executive Assistant exercises good judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and maintains a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Senior Executive Assistant will have the ability to work independently on projects, from concept to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes a broad range of administrative tasks such as; correspondence, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing materials and maintaining records
- Organizes travel and appointments of the Director of Education and the Education Department.
- Composes and prepares correspondence that is sometimes confidential including acknowledgement letters, personal correspondence and other letters as necessary
- Handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
- Coordinates all aspects of projects and events to ensure a structured and documented process including scheduling meetings to review projects and follow up on timelines
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in a related discipline such as communications or business, administration
- Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a senior administrative position
- Demonstrated project and/or event management skills
- Work experience in, or exposure to, Indigenous organizations or First Nations governments is an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication ability
- Highly organized and adaptable to changing priorities and duties.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in developing and delivering events in a First Nation environment would be considered an asset
