The First Nations Tax Commission (FNTC) is a long-established, national First Nations led institution that supports and assists First Nations across Canada in the development and implementation of tax systems on their lands. Our mission is to help First Nations advance self-determination and build strong economies.

OUR OPPORTUNITY

The Executive Director of HR, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, plays a pivotal role on the senior leadership team at FNTC. This position is responsible for providing strategic advice and leadership on all aspects of human resources, including organizational development, talent management, total rewards, staff engagement, employee relations, and health, wellness, and safety.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policies, and leading programs that advance FNTC’s HR initiatives. With an approachable and inclusive leadership style, the Executive Director fosters a diverse and engaged workforce, while driving meaningful change and growth. The Executive Director collaborates with a dynamic team to implement transformative HR programs. These include redesigning the organizational structure, shaping the organization’s culture, and executing strategic initiatives that enhance service delivery through the development of human capital.

WHO YOU ARE

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Human Resources or related discipline and bring a minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, a comprehensive understanding of daily HR operations and a proven ability to cultivate and foster cross-functional teams. The candidate must demonstrate inspirational and strategic leadership in implementing transformative HR programs and initiatives, along with a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture and driving employee engagement. The preferred candidate will have CPHR or similar certifications.

WHAT WE OFFER

The salary for the Executive Director position is commensurate with experience and education within a salary range of $151,000 – $189,000.
